Good days bad days
Well, yesterday was not so good. Took mom to docs in the morning. She is having a really hard time breathing. Had to take her to a new Dr. because everyone is on vacation. She saw a Dr. Clark. Great guy. We really liked him. He gave her a breathing treatment and a steroid shot. Told her that she needed Hospice so she wouldn't need to come back in when stuff like this happens. He told her her lungs sounded good but something is obstructing her breathing and she needs to see her oncologist to find out what they need to do. He said a trach most likely was going to need to be put in. She has to be able to breath. I made her an appointment for monday to see her oncologist to see what they recommend. She is ready to go into the hospital and have it done since she can hardly breath on her own. She said she will have it done. This means she will not talk again so if you want to talk to her one more time is suggest you call her before monday.
Sorry this is going to be short. I just stopped home to get her ready room ready at my house and need to head back over there. I will take pictures tomorrow to post later.
Love to all!! Happy Thanksgiving.

Saturday
Well, I let mom out of Lisa's Boot Camp for the night. I took her home last night and Mel and Gabbie stayed with her. I will take her to get her hair done today and then we'll head back to her house to start the painful job of packing, sorting, and throwing away 50 plus years of stuff.
Mom can hardly breath and has a really hard time eating anything. I think if it gets any worse I'm going to suggest that a feed tube gets put in at least, so she can get some kind of nutrition. At least she can hide that. She doesn't think her breathing is bad but it's labored in and out. I hear the reason people die from this type of cancer is from malnutrition. They just have no appetite and it's so difficult. Their bodies just start shutting down.
I took this picture of her eating chicken soup the other day. Cali of course is doing her job by keeping booshie's legs warm at the same time hoping their might be a piece of chicken in that soup that she can have.
Just so you know it's like 70 plus degrees in the house and she has on 2 shirts a blanket wrapped around her shoulders, a wool blanket, a fleece blanket and a 104 degree dog on her lab. I feel like I'm having a hot flash.
I've taken the car keys away. She is much to weak to drive. She knows it but I just don't want her taking a chance.
Hopefully, this week things will get better.

Mom
Thought I would start a blog about my moms condition. First and foremost I am not a good speller so if something is spelled wrong sound it out.
So today is day 5 of the first round of chemo. We will go to hospital in a little bit and have the bag removed. I told mom that she can go home today if she eats breakfast and lunch before we go. So far so good. It's 11:00 and she's taken her meds and had an egg with V8 juice. She hasn't gotten out of bed yet but still she did eat. She also is drinking her potassium.
